The Faculty and Staff Housing Maintenance administration was established in 1412 AH under the name of (the University Housing Maintenance Unit) within the Projects and Maintenance administration.

In 1428 AH, it was transformed into an administration. It became affiliated with the General Department of Operations and Support Services by a decision made by His Excellency, the University President, under the name of Faculty and Staff Housing Maintenance Administration.

In 1430 AH, the administration was included in the university Vice president for projects.
